Re-Booking

We truly love all our clients here at Stevie English, and it is awful to turn them away because they can't get the appointment they need. We are getting busier all the time, and it is hard to find appointments with only a few days' notice. If you want to keep your fabulous style looking perfect- RE-BOOK!

I can't emphasise this enough. Booking an appointment four weeks from today is far easier than securing one for this weekend. It just guarantees your place, and means we don't have to disappoint you by not finding a spot. Please re-book. I'll give you a coffee!

Oscars 2010 Hair Report

The Oscars. Dresses. Glamour. HAIR. So who did we love?

Sandra Bullock: The Golden Girl. Beautiful, sleek, glossy brunette hair. She looked perfect, and she won! Does not really get any better for her.


Sarah Jessica Parker: The Risk Taker. Say what you will about her dress, but I loved her hair. The huge hairpiece is so dramatic, and you got to give her props for not being boring. I would have smoothed the front a little, but maybe it was windy!

Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz: The Old-Hollywood Glamour Girls. Long, blonde, cascading waves over one shoulder. It's a Hollywood classic, and both of these gorgeous women worked it beautifully.










Meryl Streep: The Class Act. She just gets better and better. Her simple french roll accentuates her beautiful face. She is just impeccable.
The Oscars are never usually the place for crazy styles, but these looks were classic, beautiful and effective.

Well this year has been a bit of a blur so far, the salon has pumping! We have Verity as a finalist in the AHFAs; the team have been working their tails off, and I have been down to Melbourne to cover a shoot for Prohairstylist
Have added a few pics of Verity (workin' 'ard) at the Playground Weekender festival. Verity styled the mega cool DJ/producer James Lavelle from UNKLE, who she worked with in London.
Yeah its a tough job!

Hair And Makeup in Glebe Sydney

We have some exciting news: Verity Griffiths, our uber-talented hair stylist and makeup artist, has just made finalist for MAKEUP ARTIST OF THE YEAR!!! She is a bit of a creative genius, and this acknowledgement of her skill is well deserved. We are very, very proud of you V. too check out her competition click here

Stevie English Hair is known for, obviously, hair.We have talented staff who create great styles on clients and on models. We have not really advertised or we are not known for the great makeup we do. We have two makeup artists in the salon.Verity, our clever finalist, and Raquel. Raquel is learning to be a hairdresser, she's a skilled makeup artist, and she is the newest recruit to the academy. She has a keen eye and is fashion obsessed, which we love.

Verity has just shot some ads for Fashion Trend magazine, as well as just doing some moving image for an advert (watch this space.) We shot pics in the salon in the Stevie English Studio, which is upstairs.

You may notice they are not our normal eco-friendly O&M hair products, but don't worry- not changing product companies, it was just for this shoot. Looks good, cool hair and I think Verity was very happy with the male model... wonder why?!

The Stevie English Hair Academy

New year, new beginnings! In 2010, this is especially true for Stevie English Hair. We had a very busy period running up to Christmas and New Year, not just keeping all our lovely clients' hair in festive perfection, but also doing some major renovations in the salon.
Last year I blogged about our plans for the year, and we talked about expanding into our upstairs area and the "Stevie English Academy". The rebuild is now in the final stages, and everyone is getting pretty keen to get upstairs and use the rad new space. We are also really keen on training some new members of the O&M family, we just can't get enough of these wonderful products and love spreading the word. But first, a sneak preview of the new upstairs salon/training academy. Of course there will be an official launch (ok I mean a party) soon, but until then....check it out!
